Hey hey! As you can tell from the title, today we’re talking about photography, food, and the stories behind them. I thought it would be fun to share some of my food pics—because to me, food (and especially cooking) is a super creative job.
Over the past year, I’ve captured countless dishes, many of them while traveling. I’ve picked 5 that stood out to me the most. Each one has its own memory, mood, or moment behind it—and I’m excited to take you through them, one by one, with a short story for each.
Let’s dig in!

Seoul, South Korea I’ve been to South Korea twice already, and let me tell you—I’ve never been so in love with food. I genuinely enjoyed (almost) every single dish I tried while traveling there.
This photo captures my very first meal after landing in Seoul. I usually travel solo, which I absolutely love! But I’ll admit, the start of each trip is always a little tricky when it comes to dining alone. I often find myself standing in front of a restaurant, giving myself a little pep talk before going in.
This time was no different. I waited about 15 minutes outside before I finally worked up the courage to step inside. And honestly? It was so worth it—the food was amazing. But… things got a little awkward when it was time to pay. The restaurant had a technical issue and couldn’t accept card payments. And of course, I’m that person who never has cash on them.
So, what did I do? I left my passport with them (yes, really!) and ran off to find an ATM. Luckily, everything worked out fine—and the meal was so good, I actually went back again later during my trip.

What do we have here? At first glance, this might not look like much—but this dinner was, hands down, one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. Last year, I traveled to Taiwan, and wow… the food there was next level. Every bite was full of flavour, and I was basically in foodie heaven the whole time.
This particular meal might look pretty standard in the photo, but the experience behind it was anything but. The restaurant was huge, and while there were regular servers, most of the work was done with the help of robots. Yep—actual robots delivering food to tables! It was the first time I’d ever seen that in real life, and it was such a fun and futuristic experience.

Lecce, Italy This tiramisu was simply mind-blowing. I loved every single bite of it. The story behind this one is simple, but really special. It was from the first holiday in years that I took with my mother and older brother. I was so thankful it all worked out and that we had the chance to plan this trip together. Moments like these remind me that food is more than just something we eat—it’s a way to hold onto memories.

Luxembourg City, Luxembourg Okay, what’s so special about coffee and cake? Well… first of all, this pecan caramel chocolate cake was tasty AF! But what really made this moment memorable was the story behind it.
Through the magic of the digital world, I somehow connected with an American soldier who was stationed in Germany. Long story short—that day turned into my first time ever playing tour guide in my own country.
It was honestly such a fun and special experience. Showing someone around made me see familiar places with fresh eyes. I don’t always feel lucky to live where I do, but that day was a humbling reminder of how beautiful my home country actually is.

Düsseldorf, Germany First of all, it was my very first hot pot experience! And, of course… we ordered way too much food. By the end, the person I was with even tried to offer the untouched leftovers to the guests sitting next to us—which, I have to admit, was pretty funny.
What made it memorable was the spontaneity. We decided, out of the blue, to drive all the way to Düsseldorf just to eat some good food. And right after the meal, we turned around and drove back.
Looking back, it was a strange time in my life—I wasn’t feeling my best mentally. But little spontaneous moments like this gave me hope, even if just for a day. And that’s something I’m still grateful for.
And that’s a wrap! I truly hope you’ve been able to catch the vision behind this post. When we take food photos, they’re often more than just snapshots of what’s on our plate. They’re moments frozen in time, memories we can hold onto and revisit for years to come.
Every dish has a story, and every picture captures a tiny piece of the journey. These small, visual reminders not only let us reflect on the past, but they also help us move forward, keeping those memories alive and inspiring us to create new ones.
Thank you so much for taking the time to be here and join me in this exploration of food, photography, and the stories behind them.
